Youth Mental Health First Aid Training for Halifax High School Teachers

On Friday, Feb 27th, we hosted 17 local folks, mostly Halifax County Public School teachers, at SVHEC, in a Youth Mental Health First Aid training.

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in adolescents through a 5-step action plan.

Trainers were Kenan Tyner-Smith (Director of Prevention & Community Connection) and Tiffany Moore (CFS Community Services Manager)
