45% of LGBTQIA+ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year.

LGBTQIA+ youth who felt high social support from their family reported attempting suicide at less than half the rate of those who felt low or moderate social support.

Fewer than 1 in 3 transgender and nonbinary youth found their home to be gender-affirming.

Identity, Terminology and Acceptance Workshop

Southside Behavioral Health hosted a workshop Aug. 15, 2022, to convene a discussion of identity, terminology and acceptance.

Bryan Price, chairman of the board of Equality Virginia, conducted the workshop and led the discussion.

The event was organized in support of Southside's LGBTQIA+ youth and their adult allies.
