Virginia Offers VENA to SNAP Beneficiaries

Important update for Virginia SNAP recipients 
 
Because of the federal government shutdown, regular SNAP benefits are currently paused. Governor Youngkin has launched a temporary program called VENA (Virginia Emergency Nutrition Assistance) to help families during this time.
 
🔹 Benefits will be loaded onto your current EBT card
🔹 Payments will come weekly instead of monthly
🔹 The total amount you normally receive each month will be split into 4 weekly deposits
🔹 VENA will continue through November or until SNAP returns
 
Payment schedule depends on when you normally receive SNAP:
If you receive SNAP on the 1st → VENA payments will arrive Mondays
If you receive SNAP on the 4th → payments will arrive Wednesdays
If you receive SNAP on the 7th → payments will arrive Fridays
