Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth Lunch & Learn with Participating Schools

On Thursday, April 25, 2024 Southside Behavioral Health joined together with the marketing team led by Tonya Dunn of Mecklenburg County High School to host a Lunch & Learn to showcase the success of students’ work for the Community Innovation grant awarded by the  Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth.  The event was hosted at Mecklenburg County High School and supported by keynote speaker, Brenna Link, Population Health Manager, for the Virginia Department of Health for the Danville-Pittsylvania- Southside District, the Southside Wellness Coalition, The Trauma Awareness and Resilient Partners Resilient Pathways.

30 students along with 9 teachers, sponsors and local supporters joined together to share the success of a real time marketing campaign created by students from Mecklenburg, Halifax and Brunswick High Schools and students from the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center.  This event allowed participants to view the success of their media campaigns and learn about opportunities for youth involvement in public health.
