Southside Behavioral Health Partners with Friends of Occoneechee State Park to Host Recovery Run 5k

BRUNSWICK, MECKLENBURG, & HALIFAX, VIRGINIA – Southside Behavioral Health is hosting its first in-person 5k at Occoneechee State Park on Saturday, September 16th, 2023. This event is open to anyone in the community and is completely free to participants. Providing this run for free is only possible due to grant funding and local sponsors: Year of the Peer grant provided by DBHDS, and sponsorships from Southstone Recovery Center, Dominion Energy, Southside Wellness Coalition, and Sentara Health. Without the funding from these local partners who share our mission to support wellness and quality of life in our community, this run would not be possible! Southside’s Run for Recovery is held to bring awareness to our community about recovery and support those on their journey. This event allows for us to come together as a community to challenge stereotypes, eliminate stigmas, and show support to those who are still struggling. This run is not officially timed, but is open to those who would like to run or walk! To register for the run visit: southsidebh.org/recovery-run-2023
