May is Mental Health Awareness Month
During the last few weeks of April, Southside Behavioral Health distributed 200 yard signs to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health issues in our local communities. The signs went to community members, schools, police stations, and others across the counties of Halifax, Brunswick, and Mecklenburg. The yard signs are part of a larger campaign coordinated by Southside Behavioral Health to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month.
In addition to the yard signs, Southside Behavioral Health will host a number of community events throughout May to promote healing and helping others to increase the health of our communities. These events are intended to educate individuals on the different aspects of Mental Health as well as increase conversation around mental health in our communities. To participate in The Mental Health Month Sweepstakes, snap a picture of one of our yard signs and post it to our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/southsidebehavioralhealth) with the hashtags #mentalhealthmonth #southsidestrong #MHMSBH to enter to win.
Starting June 1, 2021, yard signs may be returned to any Southside Behavioral Health facility.
