SBH is seeking a qualified individual who will interact with and thoroughly document custody for individuals placed on Emergency Custody Orders (ECO) so that local law enforcement officers may return to their duties in the community they serve.  The CITAC Officer  Supervisor must meet all qualifications as a Special Conservator of the Peace.  The CITAC Officer Supervisor will work with the Divisional Director of Crisis Services and Director of Clinical Services to fully develop and implement the Crisis Intervention Team Assessment Center program at the SBH Response and Recovery Center.  The CITAC Officer Supervisor will work collaboratively with the Crisis Care Clinicians, Case Managers, Peers, and nurses as an integral part of Southside Behavioral Health’s Crisis Response Team.  The CITAC Officer Supervisor will ensure safety of the individuals who are admitted to the CITAC Center and utilize appropriate de-escalation and use of force techniques.  At times, the CITAC Officer Supervisor may be required to serve Officer Initiated Emergency Custody Orders and Temporary Detention Orders (TDOs) and maintain custody.  The CITAC Officer Supervisor is required to be Crisis Intervention Team trained, which is provided by SBH.  The CITAC Officer Supervisor will provide supervision to CITAC Officers, maintain scheduling for the CITAC center to ensure 24/7 coverage, and monitor the annual and ongoing credentialing process for CITAC Officers.  The CITAC Officer Supervisor is responsible for review of policies and procedures related to the CITAC program with the Divisional Director of Crisis Services. The CITAC Officer Supervisor will take a leadership role and assist with program development, implementation, and improvement as well as assisting with officer selection of candidates for CITAC positions.

Responsibilities

  • Completion of qualifications as a Special Conservator of the Peace and continuation of required DCJS or other required, in-services.
  • Supervises CITAC Officers.
  • Assists with review of CITAC policies and procedures in conjunction with the Divisional Director of Crisis Services.
  • Provides leadership and assistance with developing, implementing, and monitoring the CITAC Program.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associates Degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Psychology, or Social Work preferred
  • Must have a proven understanding of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.  Must demonstrate knowledge of local and state laws, including regulations surrounding behavioral health treatment, Emergency Custody Orders, and Temporary Detention Orders.  Must demonstrate proficiency of the Use of Force Continuum.
  • Must meet all criminal background and drug screening requirements.
