CIT Brunch: Honoring Our Law Enforcement Partners

Southside Behavioral Health recently hosted two appreciation brunches to recognize and thank local law enforcement for their ongoing support of our Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training.
Held quarterly, CIT is an intensive 40-hour program that builds vital connections between law enforcement, mental health providers, hospital emergency departments, and individuals living with mental illness and their families. Through strong community partnerships and hands-on training, CIT helps improve communication, connect individuals in crisis to the right resources, and enhance safety for both officers and the community.
Thanks to the dedication of our local agencies, nearly 200 officers in our area have completed CIT training since its launch. These brunches were a small way for us to share a meal, show our appreciation, and say thank you for the critical role law enforcement plays in supporting mental health in our communities.
