ACEs at Halifax High School

On March 30, Southside Behavioral Health’s Prevention team hosted an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) training for teachers at Halifax High School. ACEs refers to potentially traumatic events experienced during childhood that can have lasting impacts on an individual’s mental health and overall well-being. This training focused on increasing awareness of ACEs, while equipping educators with tools and resources to help reduce their impact, foster resilience in students, and support healthier outcomes across our communities.

Participants also heard from Nicole Lewis, Director of Quality & Compliance, and Ericka Ligon, Reimbursement Manager, who shared insights into their roles and the ways Southside Behavioral Health supports individuals and families.
